Activate Food Arizona offers customizable trainings that break down the precursors and economic factors that contribute to food insecurity and offers actionable solutions to remediate food insecurity for the long-term.
Our training program is separated into three modules, each focused on unique core concepts designed to equip our partners with the information and resources they need to make the greatest impact in their communities. Our trainings are designed for groups of 20-50 individuals, but can be customized depending on your preferences.

Training Module A:
Introduction to Farm Express Designed for businesses and organizations interested in bringing the Farm Express mobile market to their on-site location, this introductory presentation provides service and logistics expectations for wellness events and covers the core mission of the Farm Express service. Training Module B: The "Othering" of Food Insecurity Offered as either an introductory or enhanced training structure, this is an interactive workshop designed to foster critical thinking and problem solving around current challenges in Arizona’s food system. Training Module C: Food Insecurity, Policy and Practice Offered as either an introductory or enhanced training structure, this is an interactive workshop focused on the various policy and community influences that shape the food system in Arizona, including federal, state, and local levels of government as well as the community and non-profit sectors. |

Community food initiativesAt Activate Food Arizona, we understand that food insecurity isn’t confined to one region in our state. That’s why we tailor our vetted food access models to meet the unique food access needs of our rural and Tribal communities, too.
Community Outreach and Connections We connect community members and food partners to existing food system councils and coalitions, as well as provide community food assessment planning and outreach efforts like listening sessions and advisory councils pertaining to each community’s specific needs. Mobile Market Consulting Services Activate Food Arizona is available to conduct community feasibility studies related to food accessibility. These studies provide detailed program planning for and assessment of a specific community’s needs as well as recommend various mobile market program design executions, including budget creation, staffing needs, funding plans, vehicle retrofitting, and more. SNAP Technical Assistance Activate Food Arizona provides technical assistance to retailers interested in accepting SNAP benefits, including application preparation, program support, and inventory system creation and management. |
